Overview
This 1-hour interactive workshop introduces the foundations of trauma-informed practice (TIP) for arts educators. Whether you're teaching in schools, colleges, rehearsal spaces, or studios, this session provides accessible, classroom-ready tools to help foster emotionally safe, inclusive, and sustainable creative environments. Participants will explore key TIP concepts and leave with practices they can use immediately.
Learning Outcomes
■ Understand what trauma-informed practice is, and what it is not.
■ Learn how trauma impacts nervous system regulation and classroom dynamics
■ Receive practical tools to support consent, boundaries, and wellness in creative processes
■ Gain strategies to adapt lesson plans, exercises, and rehearsal structures in ways that support student well-being
