Trauma-Informed Training for Artists, Educators & Leaders

Rewriting how we teach, direct & create.

Reimagining creative spaces where artistry and wellbeing go hand in hand.

Trauma-informed practices are more than a strategy — they represent a fundamental shift in how we understand performance, teaching, and collaboration.

In the arts, we’re not just guiding others through scripts, scores, choreography, or staging. We’re holding space for the whole person — their stories, identities, nervous systems, and emotional landscapes. If you’re working with others, you are more than a leader, director, teacher or coach. You are a facilitator of expression, mentor in communication, and trusted to be walking alongside your team on their journey towards excellence and discovery.

If you work with others — as an artist, teacher, director, coach, or artistic leader — you're not only instructing. You’re mentoring resilience, facilitating expression, and walking alongside others in their pursuit of discovery, excellence, and joy.

At the Trauma-Informed Arts Institute, we help you do that with care. Our work is grounded in strengths-based, universally designed practical sustainable tools that honour both the creative process and human wellbeing. Trauma-informed practice isn’t about becoming a therapist. In fact, it’s a framework to help keep trauma out of the room and allow participants to experience joy and play, instead of re-traumatization (‘triggering’) or harm. It’s about equipping yourself — and your team — with frameworks that foster safety, trust, boundaries, and bold exploration.
